MecicaNario - Mexican Word Guessing Game

MecicaNario is a mobile word-guessing game built for anyone who loves Mexican culture. The idea is simple guess the word that every Mexican knows by heart. Players type their answers using a custom on-screen keyboard, get instant feedback through smooth animations, and move through levels as they solve more words. We built this app from scratch as a native mobile experience for both Android and iOS. The main gameplay screen shows a clue card with a popular Mexican saying ("dicho popular"), and players use a fully custom keyboard complete with the Ñ key to type their guess letter by letter. Get it right and the boxes light up green with a celebration animation. Get it wrong and the row shakes, clearing the board for another try. Beyond the core game, we added several features to keep players coming back. A spin-the-wheel mini-game lets users win free coins and diamonds. There's a built-in hint system where players can spend coins to reveal a letter, peek at the answer, or get a helpful tip. The in-app shop lets players purchase more currency, and an ad-removal option gives a cleaner experience for paying users. The app also includes user profiles with customizable avatars, country selection, and a friend invite system. A "Venezolario" dictionary section adds extra cultural content. The whole app is wrapped in a vibrant, colorful Mexican-themed design with custom illustrations, image-based buttons, and a warm orange-and-teal color palette that feels right at home on any phone.
