Project Details

AfroHoney is a verified dating and relationship app I built from scratch for a US-based client, made for people looking for genuine connections within their community. Users create detailed profiles, browse others through a discovery feed with filters for age, gender, location, and preferences, and send expressions of interest (EOI) to people they like. Once connected, they chat in real time with typing indicators and read receipts, and can video call each other directly inside the app using WebRTC. The app runs three membership tiers Free, Gold, and Platinum each unlocking more daily likes, filters, and features, with gentle upgrade prompts when free users reach their limits. Payments are handled through multiple methods: in-app purchases, Stripe, and PayPal, giving users flexible, secure checkout. I delivered the full package the React Native mobile app, the marketing website, and the admin panel. Both iOS and Android apps passed store review and are live today with real users making verified connections.
