CareConnect is a modern healthcare platform that makes it easy for patients to find the right doctor and book appointments online. Built for a medical clinic based in Bucharest, Romania, the website gives patients a smooth experience from browsing doctors by specialty to booking a visit and paying securely with Stripe. Patients can create an account, search for doctors based on specialty or name, view detailed profiles with ratings and reviews, and book appointments by selecting a service, date, and time slot. The platform supports both cash and card payments, with Stripe handling all online transactions securely. Once logged in, patients have access to their own dashboard where they can manage upcoming appointments, view medical records from past visits, and download lab analysis reports as PDFs. They can also leave feedback and star ratings for doctors they've visited, helping other patients make informed choices. The backend is built with Node.js and Express, using PostgreSQL as the database. It handles everything from JWT-based authentication and role-based access control to file uploads and Stripe payment sessions. The API prevents double-booking and tracks appointment statuses in real time. This project also includes a dedicated admin panel where clinic staff and doctors can manage appointments, patient records, doctor profiles, and medical documentation.
